Amanda Jayne Scorer - Contemporary Artist
Born in Co. Durham in 1972, Amanda became aware of her artistic talents at an early age. Throughout her school and university education she concentrated on the technical side of drawing and painting, but after graduation she focused on architectural buildings and abstract graphical artwork. She became a teacher of art, design and technology in 1999 before pursuing a career selling her unique and lively work, starting off with a market stall in Bedford town centre.
Amanda prefers to produce her distinctive artwork based around contemporary buildings and dramatic skylines which adds a new dimension to her work.
Recently Amanda had a birthday and was bought a Canon ESO 1100, she is now embarking on a new creative side to her personality, photography. You can see examples of her work using the titles above this page. This new hobby has allowed Amanda to meet a range of likeminded creative people as well as improve her own novice photography skills.
Amanda Jayne on her art
Before commencing any new commission, I feel a little apprehensive but excited at the same time. I love the buzz of a blank canvas and sometimes my best concepts just happen without little thought or effort. Just as a mathematician sees everything in numbers, I see everything in pictures. The challenge is then to capture that image, retaining the freshness and vibrancy that first popped into my head.
I want people to love my work because they emotionally connect with it in a powerful and passionate way. I want my work to enhance the moods of my clients together with brightening up their living spaces. More importantly I want people to be able to afford my work as each piece is unique and original. I do not believe that my work should be copied or printed commercially. Everyone deserves a piece of originality within their own budget.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed producing it.
